Susan Hudson, RCA
Susan Hudson lives and works in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. She moved from Montreal, where she was Chairperson of the Department of Design Art, Concordia University, as Associate Professor. Her previous work has been an exploration of classical fairy tales. Susan recently has focussed on nature. Being an extreme gardener has influenced her focus on the abstracted visions of vegetation. Her past exhibit of unusual juxtapositions of plant forms and the wider landscape revealed this. (Click to go to Susan Hudson's Gallery).
Her studio work in Lunenburg is varied and explores an expansive range of media, one that often incorporates painting and collage with photographic and or computer designed images.
In 1999, Susan Hudson was elected to the Royal Canadian Gallery of the Arts.
Susan is President and founder of the artists’ co-operative, Peer Gallery in Lunenburg. She was also a founding member of the photographers’ and printmakers’ co-operative — Viewpoint Gallery — in Halifax.
