Douglas and Sally both graduated from the Ontario College of Art in the 1970s.
Douglas describes his work as ‘the result of problem solving; the product of as much rational deliberation as possible without deadening the effect. The finished work should have that “wondrous strange” something, inexplicable to analysis but in itself inducing rapt attention.
Sally, whose previous work tends toward the figurative, defines this new collection as a result of her being “driven to distraction (or rather) abstraction” by the anxiety and isolation of the pandemic.
